Shorter rear travel than front for full suspension rig.N:

Can anyone advise on the performance of a full sus rig if the rear travel is shorter than the front? for example if I have 3" or 4" rear and 5" front. Thanks.
Theoretically, it's fine.Kapusta

All hard tails have more in the front. Soft-tails as well. The Sugar (among others) does.

The main thing to keep in mind is what the geometry was designed for. I don't know what bike you are talking about, but if the front was designed with a 3" fork in mind, a 5" fork may really screw up the handeling, due to the fork being so much taller.
