| Wellgo B.O.X Pedal Clipped-In AND Clipped-Out ? ? ? | næstep Dec 9, 2001 11:39 AM | | I'm looking at this Wellgo B.O.X. pedal at Jenson for a second bike. I like the idea of a dual-function pedal (clipless & platform), ala the Shimano 323 / 324 pedals.
Trouble is, I can't find any reference to this pedal anywhere other than Jenson's site not in the reviews section, not on a Google search, not even on Wellgo's site ( http://www.bikexpo.com )
Anyone know if:
* The pedal is compatable with Shimano cleats? It seems that half of Wellgo's are, and the other half definitely are not Shimano compatable.
* The platform/cage is large enough for some around town (read: not agressive) sneaker riding.
TIA

| re: simple | someguy1 Dec 9, 2001 2:06 PM | | it is my understanding that the pedals are not under the wellgo name, but under the name "box." i believe it is a european company that came out with the pedals a couple years ago. it has an elastomer spring system and replacable cages for xc or downhill. the reviews for the pedals can be found under the company name "box." the company's website addy is www.boxcycledesign.com, but it is currently unavailable, maybe out of business? maybe someone here will have personal experience with the pedal, but it should be fine for town riding with either sneaker or spd shoes. |
| Thanks. Got a couple of working links... | næstep Dec 9, 2001 3:26 PM | | JIC anyone else is interested. Some of their site is still up, and Google has a few pages cached:

| That's because its NOT a wellgo pedal... | DeeEight Dec 10, 2001 8:13 AM | | Box pedals come from BOX Cycle Designs, a company started by one of the original founders of Onza. Here's their website url http://www.boxcycledesign.com/ |
