I need a good floor pump to replace an older, useless pump. \
Whats the pump that most people prefer??
Price is no object.
One thing that is important to me is a head piece that actually works, and doesn't let out 20 psi every time I put it to a tube.
Any and all input is appreciated!

Dec 9, 2001 6:16 PM | | ...i'd have to vote silca. a good friend of mine has got to have one that's 30 years old and still kicking. that alone speaks volumes to me. i go through my pumps in about 2 years, things start leaking, things that aren't fixable/replaceable.........

Dec 10, 2001 8:41 AM | | I might be the dude that Peds is talking about. My Silca was bought in '75 and did daily service topping of road bike tubulars for many years. Sure it doesn't quite get used as often anymore with fat mtb tires but it's still going strong with its second chuck and hose in place. I've never even replaced the washer but it could benefit from one I think. A lifetime pump and without frills and do-dads. |

It has a pressure guage, presta/schraeder, and a button to push for high pressure inflation. It's a Blackburn TP-5, $120 retail. Stole it for $20. It's beat-up and used but it still works. |

But my personal choice is still Zefal Husky. Steel barrel, bombproof and still in service after 12 abusing years.
