I gots a question. Who has broken a frame? how did you do it? what frame was it, and what was it made of? where did the frame break? car accidents on a rack and/or shipping accidents do not count, biatch. i for one, have never broken a frame, but i have seen all manner of frames break. If not a frame, did you break anything else major while riding that prevented you from making it back? say, snapping a fork or tocoing a wheel?

POST PICTURES IF YOU HAVE THEM!

Most of them Cannondales (my LBS carries them, and I get the "good guy" deal). Or maybe they hate me, that's why I keep getting the bro deal, hmmmm.

Here's a pic of the broken swingarm from several months ago (Jekyll). Also cracked the frame a couple months after I got it. I've also broken the swingarm and cracked the frame on a Stupor V, many moons ago.

The CAAD 3 is still going strong, knock on wood.

...Twas a 00 Zaskar X, 6061 T6 aluminum. I developed some hairline cracks on both chainstays about 2" rearward of the BB shell. I think the cracks were a result of my being 200# and using it for freeriding purposes which is not really its intended purpose. I'm going to have it welded as soon as my GT dealer gives me the final "sorry charlie".
So far they keep telling me, next week...next week...I'm gonna try welding it, It's just scrap now as it sits. Come spring I'm gonna get a FS freeride frame, I can't wait!!!
I have......Too many too! .....jdcamb

I have broken a Bridgestone MB-0 (ovalized headtube) and a MB-1 (folded it in half and broke the headtube/toptube in a crash), a Diamondback DBR Team (downtube to BB shell in a crash that busted a helmet and resulted in a concussion and a loose tooth), a GT XCR1000 (eccentric shell and bearings from hucking stairs), and a Ellsworth Truth (badly dented top tube, 2 dents on the downtube, and broken/stuck pivot bolt all of which were the result of a crash in which I broke my thumb and got a torn rotator cuff, I had to ride through a gully instead of walking through like everyone else!). I have to say all of the frames I broke were my fault and because I was using the bikes outside of the parameters of which they were designed. And yes the concussion got me Medi flighted. The Rotator cuff incident I had to ride 13 miles to get to my truck (ouch!). And a couple of the broken bikes had me walking. I also have the distinction of having got a chainring tattoo across my face twice! I also have removed large amounts of flesh in the above mentioned crashes. I am not hardcore just stupid. Never broke a fork though......jdcamb NADS 007

The first was a Haro hardtail that I bent the chaninstay on a crash off a little 3 foot drop. Then I cracked the top tube completely around on a Haro FS frame. Then I buckled the downtube of a cove handjob by noseing in off a little 2 foot drop. Recently I cracked a Pipeline at the top tube - seat tube junction. Now I have a San Andreas DHS and I'm real worried about what will happen if I have issues since the company has been sold.
i broke an I-drive but that shouldn't count. nmrosewater

Motobecane road:derailleur hanger motobecane team(reynolds 531):same Pinarello road(columbus sl):hanger pinarello road(columbus sl):hanger cannondale Caad3 AL:crack in seat stay near boss for carrier. Cannondale Caad4 AL:chainstay near bottombracket.broke in winter when temp was 28deg F.thought I broke an axle.went to put on spare wheel and said"oh s***". all the frames were replaced free of any charges.zero hassles. I had to do some one-legged roadriding(about 9miles) when a crankarm broke in half while sprinting from a stoplight with a friend. my cannondale caad4 frame felt scary lightweight by itself.
