I want to cut my 2000 SRAM Halfpipes down to accomodate my new ODI Lock On grips. Has anyone done this? Any tips? Thanks.
Having done it myself...Dirtsurfer

I would have to say, don't bother. You would be better off buying either 9.0 shorty, 9.0sl shorty (new for 02), or the new XO. If your next reply is "But I can't afford it." Then you can't afford to cut yours down. If you screw up one part, you're looking at either new shifters or parts anyway. It takes about an hour a shifter. Not only do you have to cut the length down on the base, you will have to cut the two grooves and square retaining holes. As for the grip, you will have to cut a line all the way around on the inside at the edge. Hope you're good with a Dremel?
no problem on the 7.0JsR

used a utility blade scored around at the length I desired and worked the blade all the way through.
