Does anyone know anything about Sunrace components, specifically their derailleurs? i was just on their website and i am curious. they don't offer much info on their products.

Is Sunrace the same as Suntour?

If so, their cassettes are garbage. My wife's REI bike came with one, and the shifting was horrible. If you didn't downshift exactly a multiple of a full gear step, the chain would run between two cogs and not shift back up to the taller one like it does on an SRAM or Shimano cassette. I finally replaced it after she told me it was so undependable that she always clipped out before downshifting! Yikes. I did like the 11-13-15-17-19-21-24-30 bailout spacing, though.

If not, forget what I said.

totally different companies, no connection whatsoever. that "bailout" is bogus -- going from a 24 to a 30 with nothing in between is ill-informed; I told the US representative of sunrace that a couple of years ago when I tested some of their stuff.
Then shimano's ill informed too because they do it also.DeeEight

Ever checked the cog sizes on their lower range cogsets, especially all the Mega-Range cassettes you find on city bikes ?

Some trials riders use sunrace derailers because they are cheap. If you distroy components regularly sunrace is the way to go.
Decent stuff...DeeEight

they're a big taiwanese component maker in the same style as SRAM, Shimano, Suntour (some weird rule about drivetrain component makers have to be named with an 's' unless they're italian).

I think Travis Brown is sponsored by them and races on their JuJu model parts.
