| WR | Bigwheel Jan 17, 2002 2:33 PM | | Go through other 29" postings here and in Passion (Singlespeed too) to get a feel for what some think to be the advantages of 29"rs and some (most) feel to be the disadvantages. I am not going to tell you that it is anything other than right for me. I ride long distance XC that can encompass tight switchbacks and technical terrain to wide open black top and everything in between. On a 29"r I get home with a bigger smile on my face than I used to have 4 years ago when I stopped riding 26" wheel bikes. The best way to figure it out is to throw a leg over one and ride it on the type of terrain you normally would ride, if you don't feel any improvement pretty much right away then you probably won't at all. The amount of 29"rs out there makes that kind of hard to do but more are being made all the time. So keep an open mind and do what feels right! |
