sorry to say this but winter here in New England,USA has been very mild.I have been able to ride so much that I'm afraid I'll be burned out by spring.It's52 degrees F.and sunny right now.But sunday will be rainy and much colder.2 months to go.it will go fast.
I am living right now in Provo, Ut. It was pretty warm today but the last couple of months have been in the low 30's I am ready for spring pronto!Kornphlake

You're in Provo? Where do you ride? I just moved from there a few months ago. Favorite trails: racetrack (not right now, although a friend just rode it recently), Alpine foothills, Ridge Trail (summer only).

My old riding buddies are still hitting the foothills in Alpine. I guess you have to like snow riding though. Winter is a good excuse to head to St. George or Moab...

If you want to find out where to ride, check with Terry at Timp Cyclery in Pleasant Grove.

The race track is pretty fun if you are referring to the one on the north side of provo canyon. Right now the bonneville shoreling trail from rock canyon to the "Y" parking lot is pretty good, make sure you have fenders though or you'll be sorry, there are a couple of pretty good trails that drop down from the parking lot at the Y trail head, During the spring and sumer I like to ride the upper part of the shoreline trail from the bridal veil falls area down past an archery range then up squaw peak road to where the trali drops off the front of squaw peak there are probabally 20 different trails that go down, most are pretty technical some are really wide becuase 4 wheelers play around up there. Up the provo river trail to the very end(south fork) has some great singletrack but lots of uphill. I have never ridden American fork canyon but people say it is one of the best trails in utah, check the reviews on this site. I'm going to St. George this week I'll post my reviews of the trails I ride down there.
That's pretty mild up there. I'm just south of Atlanta, GA.....Zomby Woof (MCM #700)

And it's about a few degrees warmer. Much better than last winter. In fact about 2 weeks ago we hit the 70's :-). That was great. Unusually warm even down here.
yeah butdan again

yeah it sure does.here in New England it's just a little too long.it could be alot worse if I lived in Minnesota.but winter also enables, kinda forces, you to get involved in different activities and take a break from cycling.do some skating and skiing and a LITTLE running.I really enjoy mt biking.been a cyclist all my life but I'm glad we get a change of season and have to do other things to keep busy.I would get burned out riding all year.but however, after work it's dark, the temp plummits and motivation to go out is sometimes lacking.winter sucks but it will be over soon.

we rode on mount tam yesterday. first time i've been there in almost two years, even though i live in SF.

geoff broke his hanger less than ten minutes into tenderfoot and we had to go to the shop and get that fixed. good thing too, because i forgot my jacket and had to buy a vest. "vest", you snow-field dwellers scoff. wellll, it does get windy...wool alone does'nt stop the wind.

tam was windy and cool and it started to rain when we were almost all the way down. good thing too, because mt tam can be miserable during a rainstorm.

yeah, even here in norcal, winter is'nt all that fun--but i feel for you living in more miserable climates. i grew up in OHIO and escaped at the first opportunity.
