| Parsons School of Design Questionere | Martin Feb 18, 2002 3:30 PM | | We are a group of students from Parsons school of Design in NYC that were assigned a task of designing the next generation mountain bike aimed not necessarily at a professional but rather at a serious amateur. So, we turn to this forum for your opinions to find out what people like and dislike about the current bike designs and technology, what needs improvement and what needs to be addressed that isn't currently available on the market. Hope you guys can help us out so we can input your comments in to our design which we will post on this site when we finish the project.
Here's a list of questions that would help to get us started.
What do you like about current mtn. bike design and what would you like to see changed?
What's the first upgrade that you did to your bike?
What type of riding do you do? Cross-country? Down hill? Free
ride? Other____
What kind of bike do you have? Full suspension? Front?
Suspension? Rigid? Or Single speed?
Do you like to repair your bike yourself or rather have someone else work on it?
What would you like to change on your bike?
Do you ride by yourself or with a group?
How many years have you been riding?
What are your other hobbies?
What frame materials do you prefer? Steel, aluminum,
titanium..Etc?
When you buy a bike, what is the first thing you look for?
What do you think about tubeless tires?
Or any suggestions you might have that would help us in this project...
You can either reply in the forum or email your response to mtnbyke @yahoo.com
Thanks a lot for your input and ride on.. |

Its lightness encourages the use of oversize tubing, which can result in dramatic frame designs. Something to get you started: http://www.sjsu.edu/orgs/asmtms/artcle/exotic.htm Best wishes. Oh: "questionnaire" |
