| Hope mini disc squeel | Paul J Mar 11, 2002 9:35 AM | | I've had them for 1 week now with 3 rides on em. I've tried using iso-alcohol on the pads and rotors and even ran the rotors in the dishwasher. They still squeal with "light" pressure. Under full pressure it goes away "sort of". It's a deafning sound that would make a dog cry. I did not build this bike, but I was told by my mechanic that there was no dot fluid spilt on the pads or the rotors. should I try sanding the rotors down with some fine grit sandpaper? All helpfull feedback welcomed. |

I have tried cleaning the whole shebang with isopropyl alcohol, deglazing the pads with a fine grit sandpaper, chamfering the leading edge of the pad, covering in mud and riding...... etc. etc. etc.
I just live with the noise now but will replace the pads when they have worn out with some EBC's. I know that people have had some success switching to EBC golds on minis.
