I can't seem to find a good picture of how the optional disc mount attaches to the frame itself. I can see that it hangs below the left-side chainstay. Is there an adapter that bolts on which you in turn bolt your caliper onto, or do you mount your caliper directly to the chainstay?

What about the fact that it 'hangs' below the chainstay? Has anyone had or known of smashing it on something or is it not an issue? I only ask because I don't think I've seen another frame mount a rear disc in such a manner.

Thanks in advance for any replies. If you can post a reply with a PICTURE of your disc setup you get the helpful guy of the day award. (the helpful guy of the day award has no cash value)

The optional disc mount is a bolt on adapter that bolts to the drop out. I got mine with the frame for 30.00 extra. At first the position of the mount seemed odd. I've been riding my 2001 for a year now with no problems at all. Think of it this way, take a look at your rear derailluer, it's position is far worse than the disc mount, how often do you really f*ck up the R derailluer? It has'nt been a problem for me. Sorry no pictures
