Integrated Headset Blues :(Gookie

All-freekin'-righty-then... Today I decided to service my integrated headset for the first time in two years, just to see if there was anything I could do with it/for it... Anyway, the top bearings are perfectly fine, but the bottom are completely fubar and need to be replaced... However, I'm having a really hard time locating bearings for it... The bike is a Schwinn Moab 3. Does anybody out there know anything about integrated headsets, or manufacturers, if any that make integrated headset bearings?? Thanks.

i think(if i remember correctly), cane creek makes the bearings for schwinn icbm headset. i must admit, i have had 3 headsets from cane creek(two c-2s, and one s-2), and they are just marginal in performance. try their website.cheers, and good luck.

Chris King has a new integrated headset out on the market and it should work for your Schwinn (might want to give them a call or e-mail first). I don't know the price, but it is a King, so expect it to be expensive. Then again, it is a King, so expect it to last longer than your bike.

Hi, Doug from FSA here. We are not able to supply you with new bearings, but I can tell you what you need. It is a bearing made by Tange Seiki. I'd try to figure out how to contact them.

The system Schwinn used on these bikes is totally "non-standard", so get some extra parts if you can find'em.

Contact Cane Creek at their website. They will tell you the model number to replace a Schwinn ICBM headset and will sell direct for $38.00 if you can't get it locally.

You probably want to get a new set from Cane Creek. It costs $38 but you will have it in a couple of days. I think it is the sealed model also, if I remember correctly the headset on your bike is not sealed. Also Freshwood doesn't FSA offer a headset that works for the Schwinn. If you don't you guys should develop one, there are a lot of bikes out there with this type of headset.
Thanks
