the flume trail.

OTB.

go a bit further north and there's downieville.

last i heard, squaw and north star have cross country trails if you wanna use the lift--i almost wrote forklift--and some of the downhill trails are easy enough for novices and intermediates.

have fun!!!
Yeah, but they're snowed out until May/JuneCory

I live in Reno, just 45 minutes away, and I think it's one of the best mountain bike places in the country. Problem this time of year is that Tahoe's at 6200 feet plus, and everything around it is higher. In a normal year (we're a little behind normal now), there's snow up there well into June. You'll have to ask locally when you get closer to your trip. If it's still snowed in at Tahoe, the whole western slope of the Sierra (Downieville, Nevada City etc) is also good, and it's lower so the snow melts out sooner.

If you're closer to intermediate (than beginner) no trip to northern CA is complete without riding Downieville. It's in Nevada City, which is a bit of a drive from Tahoe, but it's well worth it! Also check out riding at Northstar-Tahoe, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (Tahoe Rim Trail), the Flume trail, and the numerous local trails around the lake. If you're interested in a skills clinic, try a weekend Dirt Camp (www.dirtcamp.com). I did a weekend clinic at Northstar last summer & had a blast. Cheers,

Adam
