| Best online retailer? | Trevor Saxon Mar 11, 2002 6:44 PM | | Hello, I was wondering what web site has the most bike parts....ect.
I did some searching and the best one I found was jensonusa.com.
Thanks a bunch,

| jensonusa.com's pretty good.... | ibismojo Mar 11, 2002 6:50 PM | | i've had good experiences with pricepoint.com and cambriabike.com as well. |
| speedgoat.com | celly Mar 11, 2002 7:40 PM | | Beth and Chris rule. |

| We don't get free shipping north of the border, but...... | celly Mar 12, 2002 7:28 PM | | Beth and Chris always make an allowance for "free" shipping to the border, and charge me a marginal amount for most orders. |

| re: Best online retailer? | paulesk177 Mar 11, 2002 8:22 PM | | JensonUSA has the best prices and are decent with questions and answers. The only thing I caught them on was a small compact/standard drive crankset and Front Derailer compatibility issue. Other than that they were very informative and helpful.
Also, the Universal Cycles guys are pretty cool. I bought from UC because they don't charge tax, which wouldn't have been a load of money since I'm spending a lot.
Just a note, Supergo sales people, for the most part, are assh*les. There have been a few times where they look at me like I'm not serious when I ask to see something like Race Face cranks. |
| cambriabike.com | Johnhotmail.com Mar 11, 2002 10:05 PM | | I like cambriabike.com. They always seem to have the stuff you order in stock. FYI - (to one of the earlier posts), there is NEVER any sales tax on any items if you buy them out of state (unless they have an outlet or factory store in the state where you live). |
| pricepoint | Cabin Fever Mar 11, 2002 10:24 PM | | i've ordered from them several times, and compared to the other guys i've ordered from, they have impressed me the most with customer service, and pricing. |
| Most my money goes here => pricepoint.com | Spinarooni Mar 12, 2002 8:22 AM | | Out of Jensonusa, performance and pricepoint. Price point has been my favorite. They send email when it ships and includes a UPS tracking number. They even called me on my current order and left a message saying one part was on backorder and would be sent with free shipping when in 10 days. Fine with me, just send me the XTR brakes! Performance does neither except make you wonder where your stuff is and force you to call them. |
| Jensonusa.com | little john Mar 12, 2002 2:48 AM | | I've had experiences with both Jensonusa.com and supergo.com and I must say that JensonUsa.com is the best place. They consistently have the lowest advertised price on their site. If you happen to have the time to ring and speak to Lee, often you can get further discounts.
I might add that Lee was very helpful in every respect, even when it came to refunding $$ due to shipping errors
Btw, I live in Australia and I still buy from JensonUSA, that should be enough to show my confidence in them..
Keep up the good work guys n gals
Cheers

| re: Best online retailer?...try down the block | grouch Mar 12, 2002 3:32 PM | | try your local retailer who wins all the local yearly awards. those people will know what they are talking about and actually install things - the right way. buying online comes back to bite you in the end (buy one of those super fork deals...alot of them are oem and because they have been removed from those bikes, their warranty is void...between shipping and possible installation costs at the local shop, your savings online may be eaten up...just my thoughts...but then, twelve dollar tires do rock pretty hard... |
| re: Best online retailer?...try down the block | dtfm Mar 12, 2002 4:18 PM | | This works if you have great local shops. Luckily where I live -- Portland, Oregon -- we've got some incredible bike shops. Good prices. Knowledgable staff. When I lived in California, I got so fed up with the high prices and bad attitudes and crappy service departments, that I learned how to do my own work and went strictly mail order. Hmmm, buy my new bike from the store and get treated like shit, or save $700 and buy it from Jenson? |
