|  Where to stay CHEAP in Tsali, Dupont, Pisgah??? | Mrrrkva
Mar 11, 2002 7:21 PM | | Question says it all. We need a cheap place to stay. We are riding Dupont state park, Tsali, Pisgah, and Pigeon Forge. Do you guys know any cheap motels in the area?? |

Mar 11, 2002 7:40 PM | | A buddy of mine & I took a long weekend in that area last spring & rode Tsali, Pisgah, and Dupont over 4 days. We few into Knoxville (cheapest flights) & drove to the riding. There's a new Holiday Inn Express in Brevard that was cheap, friendly, and close to riding. They let us use the hose outside to clean off the bikes, we kept bike cases in the rooms, and the fresh cookies at night were very nice! Here's the address-Enjoy!

Mar 11, 2002 10:03 PM | | Well nothing is cheap in "the land of the retirees". Theres a Hampton Inn next to the forest entrance in Pisgah Forest(stoplight before brevard). Easy drive to all except Tsali, which would be ~3 hrs one way. Asheville has more lodging, mostly along I40 and I26 corridors, this would be cheaper but more driving. Pigeon Forge is a little cheaper now in winter (gatlinburg). Fontana has some lodging, only few miles from tsali. actually theres a few mom n pop lodges right there at tsali entrance.
the cheapest option is camping, many camping areas to choose from, all empty this time of year. some even free up in the forest. you could camp out a few nights, save enough $ to pay for a walmart special - coleman family tent and coleman bags - then use em on your next trip! walmart in pisgah forest always has lotsa cheap campin crap
take some slicks and ride on the parkway - some sections closed to vehicles due to ice and rock falls - so you'd have it all to yourself, great vistas |
