| Moab in the Fall | StumpyF4 Mar 11, 2002 8:05 PM | | Moab in the spring won't work so I'm trying to fit riding in the fall. Hopefully we'll be in better shape and the cottonwood won't be blooming.
Any ideas when would be the best time to go to avoid the heat. I'm thinking late September might be prime time.
Thanks,
Marty. |

Used to go deer hunting there every year in October though (along with a lot of other people), so you might want to avoid certain areas if you go then... |
| re: Moab in the Fall | bikerman Mar 12, 2002 9:21 AM | | I went in the fall with 4 buddies and it was Oct 7-13. Weather was perfect! We had our days about 60-65, and our nites were about 45-50. We camped so it was nice with a campfire. The locals we talked to said that it was actually a little colder than normal, so avg temps are about 65-70 and 50-55 during that time. check out MOAB.COM for info. Good luck! |

If you wait too late in the month, the weather can get a little iffy. Just keep in mind that it will be hunting season in October so riding up in the LaSal Mtns. is usually out of the question. But not to worry, there is plenty of other rides to keep you entertained. |
