Putting bargain Manitou on beater FS bike w/ 7sp STI levers. Bargain Manitou has no canti mount nor is one avail in the free world, so I ordered a Travel Agent Pulley thingus to let me us Vbrakes. Do these things work? I heard some horror stories about another brand thingus that does the same thing, so I'm a bit leery.

Installed 2 this weekend, front and rear. I am using them as just a puller in place of noodle. They have dual ports, one port like I am using it, strictly as roller, other port goes around a guide and thru slot. This is one you will use. I looked at them before I installed them, and they are well made. Looks like it should work for you as designed. Work great as replacement for noodle, very smooth. I found them used, too expensive new.
yes I have....toad

installed a Travel Agent Pulley onto a buddies bike. Functionally the pully seems to work fine. But installing it can be a little agravating. Threading the cable through the tiny hole and then wrapping it around the "reducer" (small sized) pulley, all while trying to keep the entire pulley in the correct orientation (specified in the directions) can try your patience. But once it's together it works great. Another "issue" to be careful of is when you release the brake arms to remove the tire the cable can sometimes dislodge itself from around the "reducer" pulley. Just make sure sure to check the cable routing and function of the brakes before jumping on the bike and riding off.
Thanks for the help! May your cables never stretch...SIR CHEAPO
