I was cleaning my desk and came upon an old issue of MBA. Time machine from the days when a "downhill" bike had 3inches in the rear and you only looked "cool" if you rode in lycra and looked like you raced. Oh how times have changed!;)

Enjoy!

Sorry about the bad image quality, the magazine has seen better days and my scanner isn't much to speak of.
I like his shoes. (nm)laffeaux

You've come a long way baby.

I was packing up some stuff last week in preparation for a move and came across some pictures I took at Mount Snow back in 92'. Back when riders raced both downhill AND xc. I've got pics of guys racing hardtails with nothing more than shorts and a helmet.

No spectators to speak of either. A couple here and there. Show up to a Mount Snow race now and it looks like a NASCAR event pulled into town. Times certainly have changed.

Speaking of Miyata...remember the Elevation 5000? Man, did I have a hard one for that bike. Bonded aluminum...big, fat, lugs... mmmm.

Thanks for the memories.
