| Time ATAC maintenance? | CS4 Apr 2, 2002 12:02 PM | | Has any one figured out how to maintain Time ATAC pedals. I've looked at trying to somehow take them apart but it's not too clear to me how to service the internals of the pedal.
Thanks in advance.

| Time ATAC maintenance? | Rev Bubba Apr 2, 2002 12:14 PM | | I wash them off and lube the external parts occassionally but that's been it for two years. I've never even thought of taking them apart. |
| the Rev's right... | daneil Apr 2, 2002 12:42 PM | | no need to do anything. the atacs are a wonderful piece of engineering and need no adjustment or service save for squirting a little lube on the exposed coil every now and then. I would suggest a dry wax lube as it doesn't attract too much dirt in my opinion. |

the only time I ever did maintenance on my pedal is when I bent the spring axle on my Aliums. Ordered up a new axle and pounded it right into the other axle and followed it through till the old bent axle poped out the other side. banged and bashed and the abuse shows but after replaceing the axle it's good as new. A nice $4 fix.
great pedals, no worries. put'em on and ride em till they explode. As if that'll ever happen. |

| re: Time ATAC maintenance? | Applejuice Apr 2, 2002 7:24 PM | | I've used this on my ATACs. I never took them apart, but as a mechanic, I can agree with the advice given - if it ain't broke, don't go looking for trouble. I've spent too many late nights trying to figure out how something went back together because I got a little too inquisitive.
This spray is highly reviewed and works great. It's one of those dry lubes, so you don't get dirt stuck all over it.
It's just for pedals, though, so don't get any funny ideas and start applying it in unconventional places. |
