Ok I have a set of the 858 and they suck to get out of. Has anyone tried a diffrent cleat with these? I have an old pair of shoes that I use with a pair of VP pedals and they seem to work very well with the 858???? atleast around the block, have not tried on the trail.

Try and find a pair of cleats specifically for the 747..I did and they work great now.. I do not know why the 858 cleats suck so.. But the 747's work great with the 858's

Here is what I did. Put them in a vise. Get a screwdriver and open up the jaws. With a portable torch heat up the springs, about a minute. Then try them. If not enough, heat them up some more. Worked for me. Good luck. I was going to throw them in the trash untill I did this.
