I'm not sure but I think the type A is what you need for a GT hardtail, and type B is for the full-suspension I-drives. And I don't know if these are aluminum or steel.

His name is Bart. he owns an LBS in Charlotte, NC and is selling them for $30 (includes shipping). I've been corresponding with him, as I may be getting a GT bike soon. He says that he had his rear d hangers made out of a type of steel that could be bent back a few times, which sounds good to me. |
