best medium wieght disc rimbikingzac

I don't want something cross country racing and I don't want something downhill. Does anybody know of a disc specific rim 450-500 grams, pretty strong but not to heavy, I like the Mavic F519 but they say it voids any warrantee if you use it as a disc rim

I currently use F519s to great success with disc breaks. I of course have never claimed a rim under warranty though so I never really thought about it. I"m running them with DT Champion spokes maybe? I honestly can't remember, but a middleweight spoke. They have proved extremely strong for what I am using. The guy at my shop recommended I use the 521 Mavic rims but I thought they were a bit heavy.

That's exactly what I am running right now but mavic says its not designed for that I don't want to have it blow up or something, I really doubt it will but still....Why doesn't anyone make this rim. Many people with disc brakes ride hard but aren't freeriders and need something stronger. Why doesn't anybody make this rim.

I've been using Mavic F219 disc rim (570gm) and the Vuelta DH Disc rim - 32mm wide and 726gm (also make a Freeride-29mm wide/573gm model and XC-26mm wide/552gm model) with good luck.

The Vuelta's are priced reasonably also. You should be able to get your LBS to order them for less than $30 each. Mine have held up quite well. The XC version should suit your needs. At 26mm wide it should be stury with a good build. Check them out at www.vueltausa.com
There really isn't much available in at the 450g mark...Metroid

Other than the Bontrager Mustang Disc OSB (spec weight is 425 but you know most will be at least 5% heavier). This is the rim I'm looking at but want to hear some feedback if it's even available yet. I've had good luck with the Bontrager Valiants and Mustang holding up well so a disc version would be great. The offset spoke bed will reduce dish in both the front and the rear.

I really don't know why more companies don't jump on a reasonable weight rim around 450g for "trail riding" which seems to be the current trend.

I like the mustang disc, but they are not available in 36 hole which is what I need. I work at a shop and I have built a couple of the mustange discs, they are available (kind of hard to get though) and I would suggest getting them.
Mavic 223? not sure if its welded seam though. cheap $$DJS

its around 450 grams - but I cant recall if I saw a welded seam. Those sre pretty much OEM so you'd have to look for some off a new bike.
doesn't have welded seam on 223 (nm)Louie
