just read a post below on selling/buying on eBay.

To me it's not about the deals, it's being able to find obscure items. Where else would you go for original older parts? No one matches the selection.

No, I didn't bid on this, but somebody did: Check it out!

That's nothing. A buddy of mine picked up two skinsuits at the San Diego Velodrom Swap Meet one year for about 60 bucks total. One was new (35 bucks or so) and the other was used (25 bucks). He put them on e-bay and there was a bidding war on both of them. The same guy ended up buying them for something like 200 bucks and 160 bucks. INSANE!

The same guy picked up some road disk wheels for time trial bikes for anywhere between 5 and 20 bucks. Sold them on e-bay for no less than 90 bucks!

I'm not talking about price... my issue is... who in their right mind would buy used bike shorts?

The suit looked almost new, but I believe it was used. Not a lot, but still used.

I agree with you though. My boys hang only where no others have hung before!

picked up Three DD60 cartridges, Two SL (air) cartridges, along with ALL of the springs/elastimers and rubber shock covers.. for 75$.. Aution ended 2 weeks ago..

Already sold two of the DD60 cartridges to friends (30$ each... which is a killer deal for them).. I end up with Two SL cartridges at a total cost to me of 30$ (including ebay shipping)... go to your LBS some time and price c-dale SL shock cartridges... they run ~ 200$ each!! I have the castle tool to replace them.. put one in already.. it works perfect!!

That's a good one let me see here:

2 like new specialized speedzone team wireless computers $30

Fsa carbon pro cranks with rings $120

purple atak hubset (without freehub) $19

Park TS-2 workstand, with centering gauge, pro disk tool, tilt base, spoke wrenches and wheel building book, like new for $99

blackburn mt-15 tool I think, $3 shipped.

Lots of good stuff but those are the best I've bought price wise.

These are the crazyest I've sold.

A whole ton (probably 40 pair) of old new oakley bmx grips, bought for like $1 each in macs by the boxload, sold on ebay from $15-30 a pop.

Older campy aero water bottles, just stuff I had laying around, one went for like $80 and the other for like $90 something. Bebops when nashbar blew a ton of them out for $39 they all went for $80-100.

I'd have to say though IMO the best thing for ebay is finding rare and old parts. Frankly of all the killer deals I've seen go on ebay, I see a lot more auctions that go over retail sometimes WAY over. I remember seeing a postal team jersey, just a normal one from a bike shop during the tour de france that went for like $650. Ebay used to be much better, now unless I'm looking for something that's hard to find I don't even bother.

I dunno, maybe they were hot? Wholesale price on those is $90+ per end I hear. I love 'em; they are truly great brakes. Definitely my best steal ever.

Also got a pair of XTR 9sp pods in new condition for $40; that was pretty good.

Oh, also a 2001 Santa Cruz Roadster, full Ultegra, King, etc for $750 - it was used but seriously new condition - ~100 mi or so.

Damn, I'm good........
Although that $480 (used) Rock Sux Indy probably wins......Tom Collins

Best stuff sold...

Suntour XC Pro pedals. Just shipped these actually. Picked up at a local shop for $20, sold 'em about 6 months later for $60. (Two places still sell them for $80 or $120!), so great deal for me and good deal for the other guy too!

I didn't win (or bid on) this, but I was watching it closely. It was a New Old Stock Barracuda hardtail frame made from Tange Prestige steel. It went for $40.

I decided that I had too many bikes already.
Ooh! I want it!Matno

At least that's what I start saying whenever I see a good price...

What deals have I gotten? How about a Stratos Helix Pro for $125 (mint).

Or a K2 5000 with Race/Face cranks, XTR derailleur, Mavic Crosslink wheels, Easton carbon seatpost, etc. for $450! (Also mint).

Or 256MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM for $13. (not bike, but dang, that was cheap).

Oh yeah, and top of the line Cannondale MTB shoes for $16. Brand new.

Currently looking to upgrade my road bike. Anyone have anything 9 speed they don't want? :)

got a set of 63 for $43.00 shipped. of course this is one less than what I needed, and when I called around, no one would sell me less than 18 of them for $3.50 each. I called DT, and they sent me 5 Ti spokes free of charge!

CBO sells these for $4.00 each! that's $256.00 just to build 2 wheels, I hope they hold up!
