| Hey Shiggy-are you there?? | free-agent Apr 25, 2002 7:14 AM | | Have you done this weekend's race before? I guess there is supposed to be rain for Friday, Saturday, and maybe Sunday. Is it a muddy course? I'm wondering if I should use the Mythos or Gators? Any other thoughta on the course? Are you racing or boycotting the event?

| I will be there... | shiggy Apr 25, 2002 8:05 AM | | Never been there before. It is on the "dry" side but I have little idea of what the expect. I have heard good things about the course. If in doubt, ride the 'Gators. They are a pretty good all-rounder. I will probablly bring an extra set of tires just in case I miss my guess. |

| Sounds good-I could really use another... | free-agent Apr 25, 2002 10:05 AM | | dry race.
I am considering a new set of tires. The gators are too heavy for racing, and the Mythos do not seem to be performing that well in any condition. Any recommendations? You know my set up and what I race in. I would like to find something I can ride the entire summerand for pretty much any race, and I would prefer it to be light!! Of course, I don't want to spend $40 per tire.

| Tioga Fact XC front back. | OldSchool Apr 25, 2002 11:37 AM | | They are light, grippy, do well in the wet, and corner like ... well they are the best cornering tires I have ridden. The only down side (for racing) may be rolling resistance. This is my summer setup.
Cheers bro,

| I like... | shiggy Apr 25, 2002 12:35 PM | | ...the Michelin "Front S" 2.10 and "XL S" 2.10 combo for all-round use. They are here at $35 each http://www.bicycletires.com
And for a dry weather race tire it is still hard to beat the Pythons. $20 at Jenson.
I would be willing to sell you my pair of slightly used Trail*Laster 2.1s for $25. They work pretty well on most stuff including the wet. I just did not like the way they moved around in rutted mud. I have not used them in about a year. |
