what are the pro's & con's of larger tires. I am about the get a disco monkey that has geax hook 2.25's and was thinking about having the shop replace them with something a little thinner. Er uh, I do mostly xc but the disco will be my fun bike while still doing alot of xc duties with plenty of climbimg.

Thanks bunches

The biggest con is the weight, but those tires are sweet. I've used the S-Works Enduro, which is just a tad smaller, but substantially lighter and loved it. My favorite pro is that the larger tire creates a much larger diameter wheel(in effect) that rolls through stuff without issue. I used to think the big tire helped due to the higher volume, but am now convinced that it is the larger diameter, so I bought a 29"er.
I'd keep the tires, they will be fun.
