I am about the get a disco monkey that has geax hook 2.25's and was thinking about having the shop replace them with something a little thinner. Er uh, I do mostly xc but the disco will be my fun bike while still doing alot of xc duties with plenty of climbimg.

Apr 25, 2002 10:35 AM | | The biggest con is the weight, but those tires are sweet. I've used the S-Works Enduro, which is just a tad smaller, but substantially lighter and loved it. My favorite pro is that the larger tire creates a much larger diameter wheel(in effect) that rolls through stuff without issue. I used to think the big tire helped due to the higher volume, but am now convinced that it is the larger diameter, so I bought a 29"er.
I'd keep the tires, they will be fun.
