Hello,
After several years of use, I want to restore the bead-blasted finsh on my Ti hardtail. I have secured a set of deacls. I have also found a guy who will silica blast the frame at low pressure (30-40pounds) with 90 grit silica. Will this provide a good "blasted ti" finsh?
We will be testing the results on a ti handlebar before starting on the frame...
I have not been able to find anyone to "glass bead blast" my frame but have heard that is how most blasted ti frames come frome the factory.
I have thought about doing a brushed finish, but I like dull blasted look. Any help/ advice is great!
Also if anyone can recomed someone in Colorado to do the glass bead blasting please let me know,

Have you considered shot-peening? That finish looks really nice as well... |

| Shot peened ti looks great | shiggy Apr 25, 2002 11:43 AM | | I have seen the IF ti frames with this finish and it is a wonderful, slightly sparkely look. Very rich and unlike anything else I have seen.
I would be careful about silica blasting. The grit may damage the tubing. |
