What are you guys using out there for Shimano 4-bolt (68/112 mm) chainring guards? Need to protect the 34 tooth middle ring. Thanks

Raceface 4 bolt bash guard. Works and looks good.Smaller than large ring so improves clearance as well as protects.

Excellent bash guard.. Mine is 5 bolt, but they are made for 4 bolt as well. You can't have a large ring though, it takes the place of the large ring. But, you gain at least an inch of clearance, and it 100% protects the middle chainring, rock ledges, hardwood trees, whatever you want to go over.

I got it to protect my flesh from the big ring on stacks. It can be installed parallel to or in the place of the big ring. Lighter than blacksire stuff.

They cater to trials riders and sell the sweetest bash guards around. I have three bikes with the size guard you are talking about. Two of them are salsa trials gaurds that are toothed and one is a race face that is round/smooth. I didn't get them from webcyclery because I never heard of trials at the time. Any company that makes bash guards should sell your bolt pattern. My advice is to get a silver one because it doesn't show gouges and scrapes any where near as badly as a black one and if you aren't scraping it up you don't need one in the first place.
I got a blackspire from www.webcycleryRVM

for $51 including shipping. But it also covers the bigring. Now I go through singletracks without worrying about bashing the bigring.

If you don't want/need the bigring, I'd look at www.jensonusa.com and check out the RaceFace and I think it was around $34.
