My younger brother is now getting into the sport of MTB and he wants to make some upgrades on his bike. the first thing he wants to ditch is his fork, he currently has an RST Gila but seeing he only weighs 85-95 lbs it doesnt suck up much bump. are there any decent forks out there for sub $250 that are soft and could offer a better ride for him.
RS Judy and Duke are pretty cheap from mail orders (nm)RVM

I would wait on getting a new fork, you can learn a lot from a rigid or semi rigid fork. plus you could save some $$$ for his next bike. My first bike had a rigid fork, i learned alot, and didn't have to worry about fixing a cheep fork. I would just ride that fork into the ground by that time your younger bro will be a bit heavier stronger and taller and will most likely need a new bike anyway.
