| why does everybody talk about......... | A1 Alloy May 19, 2002 8:24 AM | | recommending LX cranks and up, but hardly anybody recommends the plain Deore cranks?? Are these cranks good, stiff, and smooth-shifting?? I was thinking of upgrading to Deore crankset. The Deore cranks are just as good as the LX cranks in terms of shifting and performance right?? Any input is appreciated. Happy trails! |

Also and the price difference between Deore and LX is not so great. Though now that the Deore are available with Hollowtech arms and splined BB they should be just as stiff as either the LX or XT, and if you're looking to save a few bucks and don't mind a few more ounces it'd be a great way to go. |

Since the Deore weigh about 100grams more, i'tll be worth spending hte 10 bucks on the LX ones |
