| no.............. | heff® May 19, 2002 9:23 AM | | ........warrantees on bikes are non-transferable........regardless of brand.
That and a 1999 model is well out of warranty anyway, Jamis offers a 1 year warranty on frames.

| Jamis offers lifetime warranties on frames. | spider295 May 19, 2002 12:18 PM | | So if I bought a bike from someone else would the frame warranty still be valid. |
| Only if you are dishonest. | fonseca May 19, 2002 1:35 PM | | Are you a dishonest person? If you are buying a used frame accept that one reason it will be so discounted is because you will have no warranty. Jamis would still repair a broken frame for a reasonable cost I am sure. |
| Only if you are dishonest. | spider295 May 19, 2002 4:21 PM | | Being as it is a jamis frame if it like broke really good like the tubes snapped or something would they like replace it for a reasonable price compared to buying one from someware. |
| Well like if you are like unsure like if this is... | shiggy©® May 19, 2002 5:33 PM | | like the bike for you, then like buy a new like bike and then like there will be like a like warranty on the like bike.
So, like buy the bike you like like the best. |
| Well like if you are like unsure like if this is... | spider295 May 20, 2002 7:02 AM | | Well like if you like don't like have piles of like money to like throw around and you like want a like pretty good like full suspension bike you like need to like get a like used one. |
| Not really | tl1 May 19, 2002 6:43 PM | | If you know and are on good terms with the original owner and warranty holder you could sell it back to him, have him warranty it and then buy it back from him. All perfectly honest and legal unless the warranty specifically prohibits it. |
| Really. | fonseca May 19, 2002 9:35 PM | | I could understand that, say if you bought it from a friend or local acquaintance, but I think that would be a pretty rare occurrence for a frame bought through ebay or the classifieds. Then it would work, you would have proof of purchase with the correct name, or it would match up to the warranty card, etc. It would still be cheating the frame company and illegal. That DOES violate the terms of almost every bike warranty out there, as they are good only for the original owner. Call Jamis and they will tell you the warranty only applies to the original owner. I bet there are very few manufacturers out there that give full warranty coverage to a second owner, and if anyone knows of any I would like to know which brands. If you buy a used frame that's the downside to the inexpensive price. Fons |
| no. | heff® May 19, 2002 4:20 PM | | D8's right, they changed the warranty length a couple of years ago.
But the answer is still no, it's not transferrable. The only way you'll get a warranty is if you buy it new from a Jamis dealer, not secondhand from another rider.
