So,

What major companies still build frames in Canada? I was recently told that DaVinci Bikes is the only Canadian bicycle company that still builds their frames in Canada (and by hand, too). I was told that Rocky Mountain only makes a couple of their top of the line models in Canada now and has the rest built overseas, which surprised me. As far as I knew, Rocky Mountain still builds every one of their frames in British Columbia - is this no longer the case? And what about Brodie - are their frames made in Taiwan now? None of the websites for these bike companies make it clear where their frames are made.

Any info appreciated!

This a almost bomb proof freeride bike maker. Heavy but tough.

Norco is not made in Canada - Taiwan just like Kona and some lower end Rockies. Try out 24 Cycles, Balfa, Brodie, Dekerf, and I think Cove bikes but I'm not 100 percent sure.
Brodie has seperate model lines made in taiwan and BC...DeeEight

is what you'll find on my Rocky Mountain Blizzard. RM has their steel frames made in Taiwan. I do know they make most of their aluminum frames in house.

Procycle builds in canada, quebec in fact...DeeEight

TrueNorth handbuilds in ontario, Brodie still offers handbuilt frames
in Vancouver, as does DeKerf also.

The irony is that ProCycle (which owns/manufacturers Mikado, CCM, Oryx, Peugeot, Bonelli, and many other brands) is the owner of Rocky Mountain Bicycles, has a state-o-art frame factory in quebec, pretty
much controls 1/3 the canadian bike market, and yet, rocky sources
a lot of their models from Taiwan.
