160mm rotors on old avid discs(2 posts)

160mm rotors on old avid discsbikerguy

I own a set of 2001 model avid disc brakes, the ones with 165mm
rotors. Can I use any 160mm rotor in a pinch
without any problems.

How long will avid continue to produce the 165mm rotors?
Has anyone tried the hope 'Gothic' rotors with avids?
File down the adapter or get rid of the CPS hardware...næstep

...and you'll be able to use the 160mm rotors. One way or another, you've got to move the caliper ~2.5mm closer to the hub. Other 165's will work in a pinch.
