I'm looking for some rainwear that is light and breathable. What would you reccomend and why? Thanks and happy trails.

Layer for warmth with polypro jerseys and poly fleece covered on the outside by a tight weave single layer breathable windbreaker.

If you don't sweat at all when riding maybe use goretex or such on the outside. But most people sweat when riding and "rain-proof + breathable" is not breathable when "raining" on the inside with sweat. And then those gore-tex jackets become boiler rooms.

It doesn't matter if you are wet, it's the warmth that matters in the rain.

I also use Performance brand neoprene booties over my bike shoes for cold or wet conditions, they keep the shoes dry and clean for the next days ride.

Wear a polypro scull cap when cold or wet too. And carry extra dry gloves for the descent home.
