I'm new to the high dollar (to me) mountain biking scene, got a couple of questions on my 24 hour old AC Air.

(I took delivery 20 minutes before the store closed-I had waited for a week and didn't have a chance to really check the bike out)

1) There seems to be a good sized "dent" (dip/indentation?) in the frame on the right side near the pedal???

2) Chain seems to skip in certain gears-preventing hard pedaling (chain also tends to fall off onto the middle of the frame)

3) an o-ring seems to have fallen off the bottom of my rear (SID XC Rox Shox) shock.

4) rear wheel has a slight concentric wobbely movement on the hub-how much movement is normal???

I'm new, am I being anal? Are these things I should address myself?

A NEW BIKE should not have these problems.
Your bike shop should not sell a bike with these problems.
Your bike shop should fix these problems.
Take it back, have it fixed.
That simple.

The dent is supposed to be there so that the crank arm clears the frame. At first I thought it was damage, but I compared it to about 5 other AC frames and they all have it.

The chain probably skips because one of the derailleurs is out of adjustment, take the bike back to the shop to be adjusted. If it's happening only when you're riding very rough terrain, you need to run higher chain tension. The AC's throw chains badly, so try running in the big ring up front in rough terrian.

The O-Ring is just a compression indicator. It's supposed to just sit somwhere on the shock slider, but it has no effect on the functon of the shock. It's purpose is to show you how much the shock has been compressed, so you just push it back up to the seal and where ever it's sitting after you compress the shock is where the shock compressed to.

There should be no side to side movement of the wheel at the hub, but it is normal for the cassette to wobble a little back and fourth. If it concerns you, bring it back to the shop for repair.

You paid a lot of money for the bike, so don't be afraid to ask the shop if you need something.
