i've seen the schwinn Tower of Power pump for cheap. anyone had any good or bad experiences with this one?

anyone else had good luck with a particular pump brand and model.

in the review section looks like Blackburn has a bit of a black eye.

thanks in advance,

jamez

Not familiar with the pump in question, but I've used a few and the one I like the most is the Planet Bike Ozone ST. It works great for both mountain and road tires. I'm not sure how they do it, as it seems like a small (short barrel) pump, but it does both high volume and high pressure very well - quickly and with very little effort.

I'll spend whatever I need to on my bike -don't care, but when it comes to a floor pump I'll goto Target. It has a pressure gauge and works well.

If that's the one with the sliding tripod legs & top-mounted gauge, I have that model. I changed the head to a Topeak schrader/presta twin head, and it works okay.

Sorry to say it, but my 6-year-old Blackburn TP-2 is a much better pump - lighter, and pumps up much faster. I pack it with the bike gear in the car every time I ride. I use only presta valve tubes, so not having a twin-head on the Blackburn is not a big deal.

Gauge accuaracy - Blackburn reads 5psi off, the other one is about 10psi off. As long as you know which way the pressure is off, you can set the indicator ring accordingly and it's a no-brainer.

Good luck - JMJ

I'm not sure if it's the same as the Scwinn... sorry.

I read the complains about the Blackburn TP-2 pump - man, there must be some pretty ham-fisted dudes out there, snapping off presta valves! I've never had that problem.

Like Locoman, I am happy with my $10 Kmart pump. It works just fine and keeps me riding. Have a small Blackburn Mammoth for the trail which also has seen its fair share of trail duty. Together they is all I need.
