ok this is the second time ive had to post this coz of the server going down.

im in the market for a new bike. basically im sick of my old SS i put together in 99. im after a full suspension bike with around 4-5 front and rear. i dont like the freeride/urban/huck cliche but i guess i fit it. back in the day we were chopping out rigids with z1 bam's etc and doing crazy shiz on them. now my main problem is i dont like freeride bikes these days. the weight geometry setup etc, its just not my cup of tea. ive been test riding a few bikes and they feel too much like my old gt lts boomerang (single ring, xtr v's, bomber z1's, etc all back in 97 :). so i guess what im after is a burly trail bike. i like the geometry and weight and triple rings.

so im out testing bikes and frames etc both in the carpark and on the trail. and whilst there are a lot of good ones, only one really stood out. the iron horse with dw link (i cant remember the name hollowpoint i think, it was the one with the hydraulic brakes). the ride on this thing is madness. big ups to dw! problem. im 6'4" and weigh 250 pounds. standard xc kit just isnt going to do it. even if i was just xc'ing it still wouldnt stand up to it. i'd taco the wheels, snap the bars, and blow the shock all within 15 minutes of getting the thing.

so what i want to know from dave or todd is if iron horse or anyone who has the dw link license is going to be making a burlier bike with the dw link or a frame set would be even better. something with a bit more travel, stockier parts, coil shock, etc. this sort of thing would suit me to a t.

are there further plans for the dw link? i can wait a while coz ive lived with my ss for so long i can live a while longer, id just like to haver it for the southern hemisphere summer.
ask this on ridemonkey....Tom Collins

DW and Todd both hang out a lot in the DH forum over there, might get a better answer there.
