Any riding near Guerneville, CA? (4 posts)
| Any riding near Guerneville, CA? | Angus Sep 3, 2002 10:46 AM | | Anybody know of any trails near Guerneville? I'm heading there next weekend for camping with my wife's family. I'd like to get away for a little while and hit the trails. I've been to Annadel in Santa Rosa many times, but it's probably too far away for me to hit this weekend. Anything closer?
Thanks! |

There's Skyline Park in Napa, and a short fireroad loop near Lake Sonoma. And another smaller park area up near the top of Hwy 12 towards the town of Sonoma (I forget the name).
Try calling a bike shop in Santa Rosa for tips.

The best riding around Guerneville is Armstrong Woods. You can ride past the ranger station and parking area in the giant redwoods, and continue up the road (which turns to dirt) to Bullfrog Pond at the top. From there you can find several routes down to the bottom, or just ride the fireroads around at the top.
Other than that, Annadale is your best bet - and has much more terrain to ride. It's about 40 minutes from Guerneville. |
