| Headset adapter? | Trailblazer Sep 3, 2002 11:23 AM | | Hi all.
Just bought a Giant frameset which came with a headset adapter which I assume lets me use my Raceface headset instead of an integrated unit. My question is that it seems the RF headset is going to fit tighter than I would expect it should. Is there different size adapters available? or should a person need to use a big vice to install a headset in a frame? Are all 1 1/8 threadless headsets the same size where they press into the frame?
Tks. |

A search of the tooltime forum will turn up a few at-home solutions for installing the headset, or you may simply opt to pay your LBS a few bucks to do it for you.
You can also do away with the reducer and install a Zero Stack headset directly, such as FSA's Orbit ZS, Cane Creek's ZS series, or WTB's Innerpeace. There is a big difference in this type of headset (aka Internal or Semi-Integrated) that your Giant uses versus the cupless Integrated design.
