help with head tube size - if anyone knowsbobcat

i was wondering if the interior diameter of heat tubes got bigger when
the switch was made to 1 1/8" steer tubes, or if the headsets just got smaller
ive seen all different exterior sizes of head tubes for 1 1/8" so i dont know if that is a good indication or not

...remove the top cap and measure across the ID of the stem. As long as your stem bolts are secure, you won't affect headset adjustment by removing the top cap to take a peak.

If you've got a quill-type stem and a threaded headset, you'll have to be a little more creative and unscrew the headset locknut, then measure the threaded portion of the stem underneath with calipers.
