Jamis broken fram..........Rantruss7172

Well I am well into the third week of having no bike and I am realy starting to get pissed. Every time I call Jamis (and by the way thanks for who ever posted the #)they say that the shipment of swing arms for the Dakar Sports will be in anyday, well I just wish they could tell me what year. I mean you pay close to a grand for a bike and you would think that you could get the parts that you need to fix it in less then a three weeks.

Jamis could be one of the great bike companys if it where not for there inabilty to get parts to the customer faster. Well thanks for listening I just have not been on a bike in weeks and had to vent a little.

Or do you consider a period a sort of 'wildcard' for misspelled words?
Nonetheless, 3 out of 4! Sock it to 'em (nm)Another Jerk

I waited nearly 10 weeks for a frame repair and repaint. I have never waited less than 3 months for a new frame to come in. I waited 5 weeks for an order from Cambria bike because part of it was backordered. Ditto for Nashbar. I suggest that you either get used to it or do something about it. If riding is as critical to you as it is to me, get a backup bike or 2 (or 3). For all the waiting I do for things to come in, I haven't lost a single day of riding because my bike(s) was broken. I just rode a different bike.

It doesn't have to be an expensive luxury, just don't sell your old bike when its time to get a new one or buy a used one or find a shop that rents bikes or a buddy with a spare to let you borrow.

In the case with my Titus as I'm sure with Jamis is that the manufacturing schedule of one of their subcontractors is out of their control and they are probably hearing the same story that they are telling you. By the way, a grand for a bike isn't that much. I spent twice that for my last frame.

Well I guess if you have money coming out of your @$$ it is not alot of money, but when you have to save money to buy your bike because feeding your family is more important then get a new $2000 bike then yes it is alot of money.
C'mon..... 5 weeks from Cambria is nothing!!!!TWD

I ordered a hub from them on February 4th! Hmmmm, today is September 4th.......that's exactly 7 months. Haven't seen a hub yet. They kept telling me "it'll be in any day now". I just let it go to see if they ever come through.

It's obviously a hub for one of my spare bikes.

You think I should cancel the order? Heheheheheheheh!!!

Yep, it's best to have a whole bunch of bikes so you never miss a ride. A month ago, I had three different bikes go out of commission with mechanical difficulties. I was down to my last single bike and the tandem to ride.

Hmmmmm, better get some more bikes just in case. Just bought the wife her second bike, so I can probably sneak one more in the garage for me!!!!!
Yeah, a spare is a nice luxury ...Philber

I just built up a new bike and kept my old one. I like knowing that if I have a mechanical it won't keep me off the trails. It also makes my own maintenance more relaxed - nothing worse than having to finish that job before the ride tomorrow morning. That's usually when I strip something. Now, I take my time and if I don't get it done, no big deal, I'll take my old bike.
Got my Jamis chainstay yesterdayEiA

It took them 6 weeks and 25 phone calls, but I got it.
Call Sylvester at 1-800-222-0570 and bug the hell out of him.
If that doesn't work, call your states sales rep at 1-800-533-9010. His boss and Sylvester's are one in the same.
