| what's the best saddle for big-assed people with numbness? | weezy Sep 4, 2002 5:54 PM | | I've got a big butt. I also have numbness problems. I've used a Terry Liberator and a Selle Italia Max Flite trans am.
The liberator is too mushy and the max flite trans am is killing me.
does anyone else out there have any suggestions? My butt thanks you. |
| Try a Western, Maybe even an English Saddle,that ought to do it. | Bonsai Sep 4, 2002 6:29 PM | | |
| I'm probably big butted. I'm definitely not small butted... | næstep Sep 4, 2002 7:48 PM | | I rode a WTB SST.K for a couple of years, and had the occasional numbness. I decided to try a notched saddle, and figured I'd go for something a little cushier cause, hey, I'm not trying to win any races.
So I picked up a Liberator, and I hated it. Too soft, too wide, just not comfortable for me.
I returned the Liberator and got my hands on a Terry Fly. Less padding, a little narrower (more similar to my WTB). Surprised how comfortable it was for me. You may want to give that one a try.

| Terry Fly | Obi-John Sep 5, 2002 12:28 AM | | I had to find a new saddle when I started ridng 20+ miles. Terry Fly is my recommendation. |

| I'm not a big guy but...... | 4 Bangher Sep 5, 2002 8:15 AM | | Yesterday I tried the most darn comfortable saddle I've ever owned....a WTB Laser V Stealth. The padding is thick and cushy but the hard shell holds it's shape and is very supportive. The love channel gives relief but doesn't feel like something's missing like some Specialized Body Geometry saddles. I was sitting down riding thru creek beds where, before, I would have to stand or get tossed around and pounded by my SDG Bel Air. I stongly recommend you test ride this saddle if possible. Good luck on your search. |
