"snake" water bottle cages(4 posts)

I used to have one of these about 7 years ago. It was a black, powder-coated water bottle cage in a strange shape: it was a squiggly snake shape. I think it was pretty light.
Does anyone remember who made these? Are they still available? Sell me one?

thanks!

Rob; I've seen those cages at one of the bike shops in Moab - the one that's out front of City Market. I can't remember the name (it's the shop operated by Kaibab Tours, so you could look them up that way) and I don't know if they do mail order, but it's worth a try. Good luck,

Mine is yellow, bought it in Moab in 1999, and I liked it so much I called the shop up a year later to buy a few from them, since I couldn't find them anywhere. They were out and told me that these were made by someone in Arizona (they thought), who was no longer making them.

The powdercoat on mine has held up really well. The screws are a bit rusty on the heads, and I have not been able to find replacement screws for them since these are unique to the cage, but I bet they might be available at a fastener supply store. What I really like about the cage is that you simply give the snake's "body" a twist and your water bottle will never slip out. Pretty cool design.

and they're about 60g, not particularly light but they do allow bottle
removals at side angles better I find. Useful on small size hardtails
or most full suspension frames with tight spaces in the front riangle.
