Get to be buddies with people that work there. As with everything else in life, it's who you know. Try to stand out from the other applicants in some way as well.
If you want to be a mechanic:
Get to be buddies with the people who work there. Get lots of natural mechanical aptitude (much harder than making friends!).
Once you get a job in a shop, you can usually get hired pretty much anywhere if you have a good reference. |

Let them know that you do alot of your own work, and that you learn how to do new stuff quick.
make friends with the guys at the shops, and go on rides with them. |
