I have read the reviews of the Stumpjumper Pro FSR 2002 and I keep hearing about needing to make sure bolts are tighten!! Really what is this all about, are they suddenly going to come undone then????
Is this bike really NOT worth buying (I am not a bike mechanic)

I have a 2002 Stmp FSR comp.

No problems with anything. The derailrs needed adjusting after 75 miles due to normal new cable stretch and the tires are better for hardpack than loose dirt but otherwise It All Just Works.
Tires are the only 'problem'abox

If the tires on the Pro FSR are like my Stumpjumper M4, then the combination of speed (very light, very fast) and low traction takes getting used to. If you keep the factory tires, you'll need to take extra care around those loose dirt curves.

OK, another problem on mine is that the front derailleur doesn't accomodate the 9 speed cog very well. When you test ride go through all the gear combos you normally ride in and make sure they all work smoothly.
May be true with any bike you get -- especially FS [nm]OldSchool

...ride it out of Wal*God, huck off every curb and roof on the way home, keep it in the back yard in the rain and it will not be in perfect shape forever?

DANG! I want my $17.83 back!
I'll send you the refund.OldSchool

Just send me your account number, wiring instructions, and any pass-codes. I'll put the money in your account. I promise.

Cheers,
Tim
