Are the SRAM X.0 shifters and derailleur worth it?(4 posts)

Are the SRAM X.0 shifters and derailleur worth it?Dave_R

I just had a serious wreck and broke one of my SRAM 9.0 shifters (along with a few other bike and body parts). I'm wondering if it is worth upgrading to the new SRAM X.0 shifters and derailleur. They look killer, but do they really perform that much better than a 9.0 or a 9.0SL?

Thanks
D.R.

I did'nt think anything could be better than the 9.0 and 9.0sl I have on my other bikes but I put XO on my newest bike, its awesome, the best and most precise shifting anywhere.
I knew the SRAM shifted better than anything Shimano, but the XO really puts a stamp on it.
They're gonna hafta lose their "sexuality" before I can affoardman w/ one hand

to buy a set. They look awesome & from what I read they are in
function also. Waitin' for Jenson, Cambria, etc. to drop the price on
them before I can shell out. Hey, maybe my new rd will get boogered up
on a rock'er sumthin'.
SRAM Rocks!!
probably not.seeker333

9.0 probably gives you 90% of the performance of their premium line under ideal conditions. You'll get as much performance out of $1 worth of regular maintenance than $100 worth of XO upgrade IMO.
