Anyone have any experience attaching a roof rack to a fiberglass topper (or "Canopy" as we call them in Western Canada)? I have an old rack with rain-gutter-style towers, but I was wondering if anyone knew of an easy way to attach this to the bed cover on my new (to me) old (to the outside world) pickup.

Thule sells artificial rain gutters that can be bolted and sealed to the side of the topper or canopy. I've had them on for several years with no problems.

I installed a Yakima to my topper this summer. The roof was w/o gutters so I purchased the tracks to mount to top of the topper. You have to drill into the topper to fix the tracks which will then remain on the topper. The kit came with silicone to make sure the hole don't leak. Then mounted the removeabel towers and bars to which most any bike holder can then be mounted. I got 2 Viper racks form Yakima to hold the bikes and it has worked really well.

Took a bit of time to set up but it wasn't rocket science.

Look online under Yakima and that site should direct you to mail order sites that carry all the necessary gear. The Yakima site is very informative but you should call one of the mail order places to talk it over first. I can't remember which places I spoke with but one of them was really great to talk to and helped alot.
