If you're frame has a clear coat of paint then pledge is good for waxing it. If the frame is bare polished metal try getting some mag wheel cleaner like mothers from Pep Boys. Make sure you get one thats safe for aluminum and it will shine the heck out of the frame.

I used to use pledge quite often. But I found it doesn't last very long - only one or two rides.

One day I tried some of my teflon/carnauba car wax that I had sitting in the corner, and it's much better. The goo just slides off the frame now.

Furniture polish is designed to pick up dust, the odd smudgy fingerprint, water stain or stray belly-button lint. Car wax is made to withstand road grime, rain, etc. It just works better.
