Want to use BMX cranks on MTB ... help!just tom

Okay ... here's the scenerio ...
Up until the past couple years, I've always ridden BMX. Now, all I ride is MTB. I usually ride semi-technical trails, with the occassional ridiculously technical trail thrown in.
I've found that I rarely shift from the smallest chainring in the front ... so I got this "brilliant" idea: why not go single-speed in the front. I ended purchasing a set of Redline proline 3-piece cranks (the best cranks ever in my opinion) and a 22 tooth chainwheel. My goal was to pick up a euro conversion bottom bracket (Dan's has a ton) and all would be good. Now I'm finding that the 22mm in diameter axle for the redlines doesn't fit any of the conversion BBs ...
any ideas, other than scrapping the idea? Anyone tried this?
... i probably should have done a bit more research before starting this project.
One more piece of info ... I've tried (unsuccessfully) contacting Redline directly, but they haven't returned calls or emails.

Everyone knows that the Flight cranks are the best cranks ever.

Sorry, I can't help you with the bottom bracket. You may have to get something custom made.

Their "euro" BB works great. 7/8" is mighty close to 22mm.
