can a new rear shock get me more travel on my fully?jeb

I own a rocky mountain ets -x-70, can i put a coil on ?, and can i get one that gives me more travel, like 6 inch(i have 4.5 now). or can i get some new link plates, and from where?

It can be done but it throws out the geometry that the bike was designed with. Since most FS bikes are designed with a variable pitch in the suspension to accomadate the differing angles, if you increased the length of the rear travel to that of your suspension without any body weight supported by your suspension when you included your body weight you shouldn't have a problem. Did I make myself clear?
