| 1984- moment of silence | boyonwheel Jan 24, 2003 8:35 AM | | It's raining. I'm waiting. And thinking. Of old. Of new. This was the bike I discovered trailriding with. It sits in the barn. I still love it. Like a friend. Before hyperglide. All trails were free to ride. I know I'm waxing sappy. He just looked so lonely out in the cold. I wanted to show him off one more time. Madonna mountain; Montana de Oro. Repack with Gary. Ritchey getting pissed because my tire was reversed. I liked it that way. Not much to say.

| re: 1984- moment of silence- Flashback to 1989 | Ian Jan 24, 2003 12:39 PM | | Ahhhh! You paint a nice picture. 1989 and a moonlit night screaming down Madonna Mtn. getting tangled up in barbed wire. Beautiful views in Montana. I broke and fixed everything on my bike that year over there. Sometimes I think about the good old days when everyone had a piece of junk and cranked up and down everything without a care. Thanks for the pic and the memory jump start. How bout the singletrack in Poly Canyon. Hmmmmm. Good memories. |
| We probably passed on our rides. | boyonwheel Jan 24, 2003 2:56 PM | | Yeah! Magpies in the oaks in Poly canyon. Then up to the railroad tracks. And up stagecoach to the "rollers". Then it's left to Morro Bay or right to Lopez lake. What a place. I rode Mt. Madonna every single day for four years. I rode down the grade in the snow past the stopped cars, without hands. I bonked on the way back from the nuclear plant one day with John Loomis. That guy could ride. Hey, you aren't Ian of mechanical engineering are you? As in Iannce's controls class? Whatever. |
| Probably did, somewhere. | Ian Jan 28, 2003 12:21 PM | | Sorry took so long to reply, don't get on here much. Those were the good old days. I need to get back and do some exploring again. I remember a drop we did off the backside of Questa that sent your heart to your throat. Wish I was that brave still.
I was Civi Eng. |
